With all the commotion in Egypt, there are a lot of news reporters and journalists covering this massive crisis that is happening. In recent days a lot of the journalists have had their equipment taken away from them by government officials. It is believed that this is in the interest of keeping them safe from damage. With this being the 10th day of the political crisis, there are riots breaking out between protesters. People who believe President Murabak should step down and those who are fighting for him are really starting to cause an uproar in the streets of Egypt. Several journalists have suffered multiple attacks in the Tahrir Square and surround area. According to Dave Common of the CBC news team, it seems as though foreign journalists are being targeted in recent days. He said it's simply not safe for them to leave the square because of the potential of them being killed. the majority of these attacks are coming from the Pro- government supporters. They are under the impression that the journalists are bad mouthing the president and that scares the protesters because it means they may not get there way.
I believe that this whole scenario is preventable. Those who are supporting the government must be out of their minds because he has brought nothing but hatred and poverty into Egypt for three decades. Someone who is diminishing an entire countries living standards should not be the President. I feel that the people who are supporting Mubarak have been brainwashed by him into thinking he is the right guy to be in charge. With him stepping down, it would alleviate the majority of this distress going on in Egypt and would make our world a better place.
